The Youghiogheny River Trail is very scenic, as it passes
through the
Laurel Mountains. The deep ravine that was cut
through the
mountains by the Youghiogheny River also adds
to the beauty
of the trail. The trail also runs through Ohiopyle
State Park,
which is the most visited park in Pennsylvania.
An additional
asset is the view of a river that has level 3 and level 4 rapids.
Much of the Youghiogheny River Trail passes through totally
undeveloped areas. The Yough is 10 to 12
feet wide and
made of packed limestone.
