The North County Trailway is 22.1 miles, and runs from the
Putnam
County border down to Eastview. Some of the old
railroad stations
from the Putnam Railroad still exist. One is
the Tudor-revival style
Briarcliff Manor Station located just
north of Pleasantville Road.
Other former stations can be
found in Millwood and in Railroad
Park in Yorktown Heights.
The North County Trailway is just one
part of a 90 mile
countywide trail system. There are two small
on-road sections
between Millwood and Briarcliff Manor, and one
short
incomplete section between Briarcliff Manor and Eastview.
The South County Trailway runs from Eastview down to the
New
York City line. Currently, only 5.9 miles of the 14.1 mile
South
County Trail have been completed. The Elmsford station,
which
now houses a restaurant, is the only remaining railroad
station left
on this Path. Both trailways pass by many parks and
resevoirs, and
together total 36.2 miles.
