The Glacial Drumlin Trail runs from Cottage Grove to Waukesha,
along
the hills that were formed under the great continental ice
sheet. The trail
crosses the Koshkonong Creek five times. It
crosses the Crawfish and
Rock Rivers on large iron bridges. Two
miles north of the trail just east
of Lake Mills, is Aztalan State
Park. This park was once the site of a
Native American Village
that thrived for hundreds of years. Between
London and Lake
Mills, a herd of buffalo is located just north of the trail.
The towns
of Cambridge and Lake Mills are a bit off the trail, but they
both
have interesting historical buildings and shops. Near Jefferson,
there is a 4 mile stretch of highway connecting the east and west
sections
of the Glacial Drumlin trail.
