The Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail State Park stretches 16 miles
from the
City of Gainesville, through the Paynes Prairie Preserve
Park and the
Lockloosa Wildlife Management Area, to the City
of Hawthorne. The
trail is designed for walking, cycling, and
horseback riding. It is 10 feet
wide and paved. A grassy equestrian pathway runs parallel to it.
Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on
this trail.
Parking is provided at three trail heads, Boulware Springs Park
in
Gainesville; from C.R. 2082 at 7209 SE 200th Drive, west of
Hawthorne; and at 300 SW 2nd Avenue, in Hawthorne. |
