The Chichaqua Valley Trail is 21 miles long, and runs from
Baxter(the northern trailhead) down to the southern trailhead
which is about 1 mile east of Bondurant. The paved trail cuts
through meadows, rolling farm land and beautiful woodlands.
Much of the trail is shaded, especially on the western end. The
parking lot in Baxter has a completely restored caboose that
houses railway memorabilia. Baxter, Ira, and Mingo all have
parks with tables and benches. The towns are small, so the trail
is the main attraction. |
